Retsini
Inspired by the Greek tradition of Retsina, we’ve reimagined it with our own touch—an aromatic orange wine infused with Aleppo pine resin. It’s a wine that captures the essence of Greece: the warmth of the sun, the freshness of the sea, and the wild perfume of the mountains.
Retsini
Orange wine meets traditional Greek Retsina. Ginger, lemon and lime bitters. Full flavoured but perfectly in balance - the pine adds a herbal freshness to the super tropical muscat variety.
The wine is made from 100% Muscat of Alexandria (Zibibbo) from 50–60 year-old bush vines on red sandy soils over limestone in the Riverland.
Made using a combination of destemmed and whole bunches, fermented together with the pine resin for 3-4 weeks. After being gently basked pressed together and aged in clay amphora.

2023 – Muscat of Alexandria, Riverland with Aleppo pine resin, Northern Greece
A cool and wet year, the resulting wine has a little more acidity and cloudiness. Very juicy and more-ish.

2022 – Muscat of Alexandria, Riverland with Aleppo pine resin, Northern Greece
A beautiful example of the integration between the resin & wine over time. Perfectly in balance.

2021 – Muscat of Alexandria, Riverland with Aleppo pine resin, Northern Greece
A very long and mild season led to late ripening. Good natural acidity and brightness, more subtle on the resin.

Far from the resiny, piney smelling and tasting examples most people equate with the style, this is far more integrated, pretty and pleasing than any retsina I have tried, just about. juicy and yet lightly chalky, lifted on light greenery, green mango, clean and citrusy, pure and delicate. It is great! Such an interesting, awesome thing to drink.

YES! Oh my god this smells amazing. Love this gingeriness. It tastes like a cocktail and. I. Love it. It's like peach juice. Mango and lemongrass. If you've watched the show for a decent amount of time you know how passionate we are about orange wine and also about asiatic food. This is what we're making (in Australia) to match with it, it's freaking awesome.

Lemon peel, pine needles, musk stick, apricot skins. Don’t let the pine scare you; this isn’t candle wax or sauna oil, it’s bright and herbal with a citrus snap and a little grip. Textures and strangely refreshing. Like drinking a wine that just got back from a forest sabbatical. Dry and wild but so drinkable.
