"Mandarin" 2025
Extended maceration Riesling grown in the cool, wind-exposed granite soils of our Nanima Road vineyard, and fermented on skins for 5 months. A light golden hue hints at a more delicate expression, it is lifted and intensely aromatic, with generous length and complexity.
"Best Orange wine in the market, so unique." – Elliot G.
What it's like
A lighter golden hue hints at a more delicate expression, while the nose is lifted and intensely aromatic, opening with white flowers, citrus blossom and mandarin zest.On the palate, the wine is finely textured rather than overtly tannic, carrying notes of butterscotch, preserved mandarin peel, dried apricot and fragrant Earl Grey tea. The long skin contact remains evident, but in a more restrained and elegant form, allowing the wine's cool-climate origins to shine through. Bright acidity provides freshness and drive, while subtle herbal notes, gentle phenolics and a lingering citrus pith character bring the hallmarks that have become synonymous with Mandarin. A more perfumed and approachable release in its youth, but with the structure and depth to reward patience.

Serving suggestions
Serve cold to lightly chilled. Pair it with some charred wild broccolini and grilled octopus.

Varieties
Riesling with a touch of Chardonnay from Murrumbateman NSW. A long growing season of warm days but cool nights gives some wonderful butterscotch notes but retained acidity.

Succulent, finely wrought orange wine of delicate yet firm ropes of tannins, ginger spice, dried mixed peel characters and a building swish of fine, lacy tannins. It’s bright and juicy too, brisk with tangy acidity, shows a cool refrain of grapefruit-meets-blood orange juicyiness and finishes chalky and pucker, yet fine. Sheesh, this drinks great.

Sticky texture, gummy tannins, loads of floral perfume. Blazing orange colour. Clove spiked oranges, dried apple, nuttiness. Strong feel of tannin for sure. It’s a wild child that hits the tutti-fruitti buttons at the same time.
