Nanima Road
Grown on northeast-facing granite slopes at 700 metres in the cool climate of Murrumbateman, this red is only made in the best years. It is a study in elegance and complexity. Aromas of red cherry and wild strawberry lead into fine layers of spice and earth, carried on silky tannins and a long, graceful finish. A pure expression of site and season that is both lifted and layered.
Nanima Road
Nanima Road is the very first of our wines to see such extensive barrel time and represents (to us) a true cool climate wine.
With this series we highlight a vineyard, in this case our vineyard in Murrumbatemen and pick the star variety. What grows best and has a perfect balance of ripeness, freshness and alcohol.
Made in a very classic style, the fruit is a predominantly destemmed with some whole bunches. Left on skins for 4 or so weeks and pressed into French barrels where it rests for 12 months. Due to the long barrel time the wine picks up a lick of vanilla wood character that adds to the complexity of this wine.

2021 - Pinot Noir, Shiraz
Murrumbatemen, New South Wales
A cool climate in a cool year, the last before a huge hailstorm damaged the vineyard taking two years to recover. Cranberry and spice, perfect to age for 10 years.

Huon Hooke, The Real Review
Fresh and intense strawberry, raspberry aromas, clean and fresh, while the taste is intense and balanced. The tannins impart a trace of bitterness which is pleasantly refreshing. It reminds of a Jura light red, such as a Trousseau.

Satsuma plum meets redcurrant and dried vine leaf. There is caper leaf, lavender and dried thyme. Morello cherries and pomegranate juice. A slight chill suits but don’t go too far and miss the nuances of which there are plenty.
Tony Peters, Words from a Wineglass
This family are hiding nothing when it comes to their principles, their winemaking, and their winemaking principles, it is quite refreshing. They have every reason to stand tall beside their wines and marvel at their excellence. Nicely done indeed and thank you.

"It's a belter for warm days, shows quiet complexity, deserves a light chill. Pitch perfect in its way."
Mike Bennie, The Wine Front
